Smart Chicks Kick It Tour 2012 Highlights

This is going to be a quick recap because I’m drowning in line edits for UNBREAKABLE, the first book in my solo series. But the post has been in my queue for a week, so the guilt is getting the best of me.

My first stop on the Smart Chicks Tour was Vegas. Getting there wasn’t easy. The flight didn’t take off due to a storm, so Yvette and I ended up leaving the airport and jumping in the car. We made it about two minutes before the event started. This is the only time I’ve ever stayed in Vegas and had a view!

The event was fantastic!  I had  so much fun with Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, Veronica Roth, Kimberley Derting, Richelle Mead, and Rachel Caine!

LOVE it when readers make their own versions of Lena’s locket!

Next stop, Montreal and a bonus event — Montreal Comic-Con where Melissa Marr was signing the audio book of her amazing new YA novel, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, with James Marsters. He reads for the audiobook. You MIGHT recognize him as Spike, from my favorite show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer!” While James & Melissa were signing, Kelley and I did some Comic-Con shopping, found a werewolf, and ran into the Ghostbusters.

All I can say is Indigo Chapters, Montreal & Canada ROCK! Had so much fun with Margie, Rachel Caine, Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, Melissa de la Cruz & Rosemary Clement-Moore. Lots of Readers made Smart Chicks shirts and bags, and there was even a handmade resin BEAUTIFUL CREATURES bracelet.

The Philly stop was a blast. Kelley, Melissa Marr, Rachel, Rosemary, and I were joined by Sarah Rees Brennan who acted out a variety of skits for the audience.  My phone died halfway through the event, but I did catch shots of a reader who needed a cart for all her books, a stack of well loved BC novels & some serious bookmarks.

And one more thing . . . check out the youngest BEAUTIFUL CREATURES fan. She might be a little young to see the movie.
