Pics & Highlights from ALA 2012

ALA 2012 was SO MUCH fun!  I seriously think it’s one of my favorite events every year.  There’s nothing better than hanging with author friends & meeting librarians, bloggers, and readers.  I’m not one of those authors who writes for themselves.  It’s easier for me to write for someone & every time I meet one of you, you become one of my someones. So thank you. x

I also loved catching up with friends I don’t see enough and swapping secret projects & shaing drinks with umbrellas in them.  Then there was lunch with my agent, Jodi Reamer (whom I adore) an AMAZING signing at the Little, Brown booth, visiting with my editor, Julia Scheina, and BAGS of ARCs = new reading material!  I’m in the middle of sorting through them right now, asking my favorite question: What should I read next?

What did you score at ALA?  What are you dying to read?

Clockwise from the top: Kami Garcia (aka – me) with Melissa Marr; Libba Bray; Ally Condie & Marie Lu.

Clockwise from the left: With Ransom Riggs & Marie Lu; Tahereh Mafi & UNRAVEL ME; Lex Thomas’ upcoming novel, QUARANTINE: THE LONERS

Clockwise from top left: Signing w/ Margie; Erin from The Beautiful Creatures Movies (@GatlinCounty) with a Stack of Books to for Her Visit to the BC Movie Set; With Georgia from  Eve’s Fan Garden, Margie & Jen and Espe from  Late Bloomers Online.

Clockwise from top left: Nancy from Ravenous Reader; Olivia; Zoe & Khy

Sounds like you had a blast. ALA was a lot of fun. I limited myself on the books I got, but I am super excited to read Unravel Me and Stealing Parker.
