You may have already read this on the BC blog, but in case you didn't, it's too good to miss…
It's a lot easier to write when you know who you're writing for.
Beautiful Creatures was written over three months for a few particular teens - Casters & Outcasters - who demanded pages at the end of every day, sometimes texting in the middle of the night wanting even more.
Our teen Casters were critical readers, editors, and even translators.
The book began because of them, changed because of them, and never would have existed without them. From 13 to 15, 16 to 18 to 25, they are readers and writers, poets and dancers, artists, athletes, and musicians.
They're at the heart of the Caster Chronicles, and we thought you might like to meet them. You can find them on their own blog, in their own words – our Caster Girls.
They also have a permanent home on my sidebar.
