Pics: More NOLA Pics from Marie Laveau's Grave

Here are some more pics from my trip to NOLA to visit the BC set, at the gorgeous St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, where voodoo priestess, Marie Laveau is buried.

Family Tombs in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1

It’s customary to leave beads and gifts at the tombs & X’s to mark a visit to a loved one. But even our guide reminded us never to step on the gravestones or crypts. My Southern superstitious roots go a step further — I won’t even touch one.

Yvette & I at Marie Laveau’s tomb (no, we are not touching it). People leave gifts and others drop coins and bills and make wishes. (Of course, we made wishes, but we can’t tell you what they are!) My favorite are the offerings of lipstick, cigarettes, jewelry & liquor. Reminds me of Uncle Abner from the Beautiful Creatures Novels!
